Jack Irish: Season 1 follows a former criminal lawyer, Jack Irish, who now works as a part-time investigator and debt collector after his life implodes. The season centers around a missing person case that quickly escalates, drawing Jack into a dangerous web of corruption involving the police, church, and state government. Simultaneously, Jack's on-again, off-again lover, Linda Hillier, takes a job in Manila as a foreign correspondent, investigating a terrorist figure, which leads her into dangerous territory.
